Frozen cassava leaves (also known as saka-saka or pondu), finely chopped and ready to cook from frozen. Widely used in Central and West African cooking, cassava leaves have a deep green colour and a distinctive earthy, slightly spinach-like flavour once cooked.
They’re perfect for traditional stews and sauces with meat, fish or peanuts, and can be simmered with spices, stock and oil to create rich, comforting dishes served with rice, fufu, cassava, yam or plantain.
Important: Cassava leaves must always be thoroughly cooked before eating.
